About the SMBA
The SMBA, founded in 1903, today has nearly 900 attorney members. The bar has more than twenty committees and, with the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Foundation, serves to educate both the organized bar and the public with a broad range of programs and activities.
Sources for the Media
The SMBA wants to ensure that the community is aware of important legal issues. SMBA members are available as speakers and sources for news-stories.
The SMBA periodically hosts a law school for media, typically a two hour program to help area media professionals learn more about legal terminology, procedure and sources. For more information about the next law school or for a referral to a source for a story, contact Crista Hogan, SMBA Executive Director at 417-831-2783.
